Salim Zahran reveals the details of the Russian initiative to return the Syrian refugees to their country

Salem Zahran, political analyst and the director of the “Media Focal Center”, revealed the details of the Russian initiative to return the Syrian refugees to their country in a safe manner.
 
"The initiative is based on the voluntary repatriation of 890,000 displaced Syrians from Lebanon, and the Lebanese General Security, led by Major General Abbas Ibrahim, will serve as the operational liaison between the Lebanese and Syrian sides, and all logistical details will be carried out," Zahran told “Sputnik” News agency, “From the return of thousands will be inflated to return hundreds of thousands of Russian momentum”.

He pointed out that "European displaced persons will be returned by two routes, the first route directly from the European airports to Damascus International Airport. Some European countries, including Germany, have begun negotiating with aircraft companies to secure the return of tens of thousands of displaced persons under financial incentives, directly from Berlin airport to Damascus International Airport.
 
“The second track for the return of the displaced may be through the neighboring countries of Lebanon, Turkey, Jordan and Iraq”, adding that “in our own information that the Turkish side seeks to benefit through the Turkish airlines to secure transport lines”.
 
Zahran said that the period required for the completion of the operation depends on the responsiveness of the Lebanese government and its facilitation and support to the Lebanese general security in its mission, which may need to adapt more elements due to the amount of effort it will put in the next stage.
 
He explained that "the Russian initiative has full government support, and the Russian delegation intended to visit Syrian President Bashar al-Assad before moving to Amman and Beirut, because the Syrian president is the owner of the final statement and the returning’s keys".
